Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Participate in department meetings and one on one’s with supervisor.Prioritize Helix Diagnostics ongoing training and education programs to ensure compliance and best practices.Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.Adhere to patient confidentiality expectations and HIPAA requirements.Our phlebotomists should not give any billing advice to either patient, physician or any office staff to ensure compliance.Communicate with the Account Manager, Phlebotomy Supervisor or Compliance Team in regards to any questions or issues.Reach out to supervisor for assistance on replenishments Retrieve results via fax or LIS web portal.Maintains an up-to-date collection log and communication journal.Properly label and document the specimen and requisition form (paper or digital).Accurately identify the patient before any specimen is obtained.Demonstrates customer service and compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff.Committed to all Helix Diagnostics policies and procedures.Must be able to make decision based on established procedures and exercise good judgement.Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills.

Phlebotomists should maintain a safe, clean and professional environment, ensure required records and documentation and coordinate with supply chain department on inventory, making sure there’s enough supplies on site to complete daily testing requirements. Phlebotomists are expected to perform specimen collection with confidence, following established protocol and procedures. Ensuring accurate patient information on a paper or electronic requisition form, then packaging and shipping all specimens to Helix Diagnostics for processing and testing. The phlebotomists are responsible for collecting on site tox (urine and saliva), blood, and molecular (e- swab) specimens from patients. Our phlebotomists represent the face of Helix Diagnostics to patients and our clinics. We cover a large mid-western territory with tremendous opportunity for those looking to grow both personally and professionally.
